Bloody Beauty is a continuation of the 2007 work The Fabled Shoots. The primary difference being these works lean more toward an entertainment objective, taking less of lecturing or preachy attitude and aiming more to amuse or provoke. At the same time, Bloody Beauty is different from my earlier works in being less overtly wacky, instead intending to draw in the viewer with extremely beautiful and moving imagery. Instead due to the spurting fake blood extant in cinematic gun battles, it slowly morphed into a sort of pure piece, turning these commonly used media techniques into a sort of one-off experience. In essence, these works all begin with a discussion of media and the human body but ultimately I hope they achieve another another sort of transcendent categorization.
